Shop rates around here are about $75 an hour, most shops have a 1 hour minimum, I'd guess closer to 200

That which does not kill me had better run pretty damn fast.

That is affordable. I was afraid it'd be much more. I fear the $800 car repair.

My advice would be to check the hydraulic fluid before you take it in, of something I'd leaking them you can tell them that, the more you know or the more they think you know the less likely they are to tell you that you need something you don't. Let them think you have a pretty good idea what's going on.

Very correct and helpful advice......from both side of the board here I can say that I like knowing that a mechanic knows his stuff when he realizes I KNOW mine when it comes to my vehicles

There is never any leak spots under my car when I park it. No leak puddles on the driveway.

I made an appointment to bring it in Thursday. I'll get a loaner car to get myself home..........where I won't be able to sleep because I'll be worried.

I just can't seem to get ahead. I want to buy the Henry Lever rifle that is waiting for me to come get it at the gun shop. But, noooo........I have to act like a responsible adult and get my car repaired so I can continue to go to work and earn money to repair the damned car that gets me to work so I can earn the money to repair the damned car..., etc. LOL

I have no problems with hammers... It's the duct tape that concerns me, brake fluid will eat right through that...
PS Winds if you do add some brake fluid to that try not to get any on the paint, it will eat right through that.
