What's the best range to 0 a .22, I chose 25 yards. It seems to shoot right on to 50. Most of my shots are 10-30 yards

It depends but I think in general, for outside plinking and maybe small animal hunting, 50 yards.

you're thinking of the maximum yardage for a 22. he's talking about what yardage to zero the sights or scope at.

25 yards i would think acceptable for most usage for a 22. i think that's about what mine is set at.

I zero my bolt action scoped Marlin at 65 yards, I always thought 50 was the standard.

Srk: zero for what range most of your shooting will be. I'm guessing you are using it for squirrels, so go with 25-30.

Depending on what you are shooting- a zero at 25 yards will be -0.8 at 50 yards. and -8.1 at 100 yards.

A zero at 50 yards has you 0.4 inches high at 25 yards, 6.4 inches low at 100

I am with C3. I find that most 22lr rifles sighted at 25 yards with HV will be dead on at 60 to 65 yards which is just about where they go subsonic. While it is fun to shoot at 100 yards the 22lr is really not a good round for that distance.

after about 50 yards, most 22 rounds start dropping rather rapidly.

with a 25 yard zero, by 75 yards it will have dropped about 3-4 inches, and about 6-8 inches of drop at 100 yards.

when i use to squirrel hunt around here years ago, most of my shots were usually under 15-20 yards.
