How does one know when buttermilk goes bad? It ALWAYS looks bad. Seriously. I bought some for making buttermilk biscuits and am now wondering if it's still good. Do I just go by the date in the container? I often use food items beyond the date until I KNOW it's bad. I can't tell with buttermilk.

I've used buttermilk with no ill effects 5 or 6 weeks past the date on the carton.

Ah, okay. The date was Sept. 1. I have eaten yogurt way past the date but I have very little experience with buttermilk. Buttermilk kind of reminds me of yogurt.

Buttermilk will SEPARATE when it goes bad, that is the liquid will turn thin and more towards clear and the solids will coagulate kind of like runny cottage cheese.

Is it possible your email server has decided that gun related stuff is spam?

That's when you shake the jug vigorously and use it anyway.

Strange. But the fact that any were there points to some of the problem being in the email server. I can't believe any email server (except maybe Hillary.com) redirecting to Trash. What email server do you have?
