I could understand old and improved, like a bottle-conditioned beer or wine or Scotch...

Maybe they mean "It's new to the market and a vast improvement over our first attempt..." Of course, God only knows how bad their first attempt was...

I'm way out of my league when talking about diesels and the way transmissions work and what not... But I've heard that noise before. In the particular case when I heard it, it was the front U-joint in a 2004 3/4 Dodge Cummins with an auto. 10 minutes under the truck while it was straddled across a roadside ditch and it was back in business.

My wife makes a pot of coffee last night, so we can have it ready in the morning. I'm not saying I can't drink it, but in two minutes I can make a fresh cup. Which I did, which got on her nerves. It's a h311 of a lot better and worth the effort.
Yes. Because coffee, that's why.

The fact that it does not do it in 4th makes me think countershaft bearings. In 4th gear, the transmission is in "direct drive" mode. The input shaft is connected directly to the main shaft. The torque is NOT going from the input shaft to the front countershaft gear and back to the mainshaft from one of the other countershaft gears as it would in any of the other gears.

I need some help with my Honda trail 90.... I think im having some carb trouble?

I was having some troubles before, the bike was really hard to start, but ran great once it started. So I cleaned out the carb and now my bike will start and run great for about a minute and then it dies, but it will start right back up when I kick it. (Have to have it fully choked) I was thinking my float needed adjusted, but it starts up super easy so I know theres fuel in the bowl and the carb isnt overflowing....

Any suggestions?

Do the valves make a lot of noise? They may need adjusted, if possible on that engine.

Sounds like a fuel restriction.
