How long does bacon grease last? I fried bacon, then filtered the grease and put it in a jar with a tight fitting lid. I'll use it for my cast iron.

If I were keeping it, I would put it in the 'fridge. Then scoop out what you need with a spoon.

We collect the bacon grease to use for making tamales. Never had it go bad. You can freeze it.

my grandmother kept it in a coffee can next to the stove. i never remember it going bad. of course she used it all the time in just about everthing she cooked! that and lard. she used a lot of lard for cooking too.
