No. You need a new one. Compression fittings are illegal, but they do work fine if they are done correctly and you leak check them. Make sure any replacement lines are completely free of any and all rub spots that might wear through the new line.

I have a flaring tool so I make my own flares (the proper way to make brake line connections) and can build my own replacement lines. It is actually pretty easy and the safest way to go.

I am a damned good welder/solderer and I would not even think of using either one on the brakes. Ever.

Take a look at this video. I just picked the first one I saw- didn't view it for quality.

the only thing i'll add is that most brake lines need to be double flared which some flaring kits don't have. the one i bought from Snap-On years ago has the mandrel that allows it to make a double flare.

even i am a decent welder with many different types equipment, and i would never even attempt to weld, braze or solder a brake line. and bulk brake line is pretty inexpensive and most all auto parts stores carry it.

Don't go cheap on repairing your brakes. What is your life worth?

Compression fittings on brake lines are an automatic failure in many state inspections, so I would call that illegal. I believe there are some federal statutes covering it as well. Not sure about that though.
