Racer, i think it's lack of confidence in their abilities to interact with other people in person. pretty much an inferiority complex. IMO, i also think they never were taught or learned how to stand up for themselves and when placed in situations where they can remain anonymous, they have larger than life egos, skills and accomplishments.

I have had many customers become rude and abusive on the telephone and then change their tunes when I arrived at the homes. It's just harder to look at someone while treating them poorly.
Either that or they don't want me to leave.

many of these types of people lack a personality. or a good sense of humor. many times their sense of humor is only funny to themselves, because they overthink it, or try and go out of their way to use words or phrases that mean nothing to most people. many of these types of people have lots of book smarts, but are incapable of actually applying this knowledge in the real world. they can quote chapter and verse, verbatim, on many technical aspects of many different fields, but could never do what they have learned hands on. IOW's, they can talk the talk, but are failing in walking the walk!

Why is it such a big deal to have female miners have access to birth control? I don't think we should PAY for it but I don't get why they being singled out for special treatment. Is there alot of "fraternization" going on in the mines!?

I certainly wouldn't tell their parents -- too much information, and odd!

if they were going to die, then birth control or condoms wouldn't really be needed, would they?

I vote for jumping out of a plane. There's a good chance you've never done it before, and it will definitely be exciting.
