the Remington actions are cheap compared to some of the custom bolt action recievers by Stolle, Surgeon or Dakota.

in a way, if possible in buying a used M700 for the action, it's much better. reason is, you get alot of the small parts you have to buy seperately when buying just the action. i know. i am going to have buy all those small parts!

That's probably the route I'll go. I'll see if I can find one in a caliber with the same case head dia as the 6.5x55 Swede.

My co-worker is giving me 2 lbs of ground Ram meat that her husband brought back from a hunting trip. Any suggestions on how to season it? My thought is I'd just make them into pattys, season it heavy whatever I have and grill it.

Sounds great... "hope you brought enough for everybody" (Blazing Saddles)

10-W30 for the six cylinder but 10-W40 if it was a V8.

3tbl. Garlic Powder
1tsp cayenne pepper
3tsp black pepper
1tsp thyme
1crushed bay leaf

Or, 2tbls salt
3tbls sage
2tsp black pepper
1tsp cayenne pepper
2tbls molasses

Or, this is pretty close to traditional breakfast sausage,
4tsp black pepper
7tsp salt
1-1/2tsp thyme
2-1/2tsp sage
3/4tsp nutmeg
1/4tsp cayenne

You will want to add a couple of pounds of some fatty ground pork.

Oops I thought you said 8-lbs of meat. Cut all that back by a fourth.
