My dog lives outside and my friends like dogs. Problem solved.

Putting the dogs in a safe place when visitors arrive doesn't mean they have to stay there forever either. Newcomers and dogs can get to know each other from opposite sides of a barrier. Then they can be let out if things are working out. Special cases like Viking's grandma need to be handled ... well ... special.

Bottom line for me is pretty simple. People are more important than animals.

Others consider their pets to be part of the family. That is their choice. But I think I'd be offended if someone I thought was my friend allowed their dog to injure me and declared it to be my problem because this is the dog's home and I'm just a visitor.

I once owned a LARGE Siamese cat who would swat at visitors from atop the refrigerator. My current cat has pantsed a hippy and tackled a toddler before (no biting).

I'd keep either one of those cats!!!

Best watchdogs we ever had were a pair of geese. When the goose had a nest full of eggs the gander was meanest watchdog we ever had too. A mad gander can put a hurtin on you.

why is that just when you think things are getting a little better, that in all reality they are getting much worse?

Axxe, I have an idea from our last conversation of what is going on. If you need to talk, I'm here for you.

Why are bolt gun actions so feaking high? I can either buy a Remington 700 receiver for close to $600, or I can buy a used (but in good condition) complete rifle for less than $500

It also seems like actions are hard to find. All I can find are Howas, and Remingtons. Where are the Winchesters, Weatherbys, Brownings, Rugers, ect?
