I guess so. Maybe racking the slide cocks the firing pin for the first shot. But how is that different from double action?

Because in double action the trigger chicks the firing mechanism before releasing it, single action just releases it.

That explains it.

Yep, if the hammer is down you have to pull it back to fire it, with a da, if there's a round chambered and the hammer is down you can just pull the trigger and it pulls the hammer back and fires. With a single action semi auto the action of the slide cocks the hammer after the first shot... Confused me for awhile too, until trip explained it to me.

Yeah, but this one has no hammer. That confused me.

I was wondering how bears would enter into this discussion about paper...

My son has a Taurus PT-92, like a Beretta 92. Those are double action for the first shot and single action after that. Or you can manually cock the hammer for the first shot to be single action. Not quite the same as that Kimber which is hammerless and requires racking the slide to set up the first single action. The Kimber does not have a double action option.

How hard could a turtle strike you that they needed a new medical code for it under Obamacare? Bites are a separate condition.

Maybe that's for the zoo keepers who get run over by the tortises...
