Cowboy Toast, is what my mother used to call "egg in the hole". Still love it to this day.

OK, here's a random question (well not entirely random, but anyway...)

My daughter is 6 months pregnant. She has in the last couple weeks taken a marksmanship class and her CCW class, both involving about 50 rounds of 9mm at an indoor range. Question: Is the noise of gunfire likely to harm the baby?

I would say probably not. My sis in law shot my 1911 just a few weeks before her twins were due.

However, I didn't realize the risk of lead at the time. Lead is way more dangerous to babies and young children than adults. And when a pregnant mother is exposed to lead, it gets in their bloodstream, exposing the unborn children.

I would say she probably didn't do them any permanent harm, but I would discourage her from shooting any more until the child is born. And then, she needs to pay attention to cleanliness before she handles the baby.

Bobski is someone who knows a bit about lead risk. You could contact him.

Lead risk is real. Daughter is a nurse and she is pretty manic about clean hands, etc. I think she has that part covered. I will talk to Bobski also.

It always surprises me when one thing can have six or seven different names.

When my oldest son was still in utero, I was "talking to him" (actually mommy's belly) and had a ferocious sneeze- our son jumped like he had been shot. It was like a scene from Roger Rabbit- he tried to jump out of the womb.

No damage that we can tell, but babies in-utero can hear and do respond to noise. I imagine that gunfire could conceivably cause hearing damage.

I have a question and a thought on that...
Why cold water? Because hot lead can absorb through the skin easier?
