and check for a club near you. Nearly every USPSA/IPSC club will be VERY accomodating. You can start off as a raw novice and go as slow as you want (as long as it is not all day) on each stage. They will give you a new shooters briefing and pair you up with a mentor for the day. They can give you an idea what kind of equipment you will need.
Thank you. Sounds fun and I will look into it.

I just looked at that(well as I went to sleep this morning) and found a semi local club. They say it'll use 150 rounds or so... I may give it a shot.

WoC and Pagj17, Don't let the others shooters influence you when you go to your first competition.

You are establishing a starting point for yourselves. If you find that you enjoy the sport (and you will), use this as a way to see how you improve next time.

USPSA/IPSC and IDPA are all really set up so that you compete against how you did in the last competition. The other competitors are there to keep you company.

This isn't even vaguely gun-related, but I always wondered: Why in the heck did Tarzan call his chimp buddy Cheetah??? What would he have called a friendly cheetah?

All I can really remember is "Mataka bia"

It's Beer!, no matter the language you should be able to ask for a beer in it.

Donne-moi une bière

Dej mi pivo

Dame una cerveza

Datemi una birra

Gib mir ein Bier

I have found through my extensive travels that one does not ask for A beer, but for 2 beers. One for me and one for the person sitting next to me. A great conversation starter.
