I'm trying......teaching is the only profession that the more experience and education that you have makes you less marketable..... New and inexperienced teachers are cheap. I may be saying goodbye to teaching sooner than later.

Exactly. I see it over and over all the years of my working life. The boss says, "I know you can get this done so I'm giving you this project." I guess it pays to be stupid and lazy.

And my son noticed something in high school. That "bad" kids, the ones who got into trouble all the time......they got away with the 'little offenses'. The "good kids" were expected to be "better". My son once got in trouble for flicking a small Nerds box in the cafeteria. Where as, the "bad kid" could throw his hamburger bun and didn't get into any trouble because the authorities were just glad he didn't get into a fist fight. My son actually got a detention for flicking that Nerds box. They said he was trying to start a food fight. He certainly wasn't....or he would have thrown FOOD! I told him I agreed with him, that it wasn't right but to serve his detention and now that he knew "their rules" he had to play by their rules until he got out of high school. Unfortunately, such is life.

You answered your own question. Bosses aren't thinking they are punishing you, they do it because they know the job will get done. I had several drivers working for me at one time, I had my "go to" guys if I needed something important done and I had guys that were my "drivers of last resort" and while my "go to" guys worked more hours they were also the first to reap the rewards of pay raises, better rigs and usually their choice of scheduled runs.

Sure as I know anything, I know this—they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, ten? They'll swing back to the belief that they can make people...better. And I do not hold to that. So no more runnin'. I aim to misbehave.” Mal Reynolds Serenity/Firefly

If I benefitted from it, I wouldn't mind, but I haven't had a raise in 5 years and conditions get worse each year....

I know you like teaching but you seriously need to get out of that business, if that's the way you are treated by the higher ups.

I'm looking into a change which sucks because I love it, but it's changing so much that it's not as enjoyable anymore. I'm going to find a good headhunter and see what my options are...

Have you considered daycare? They probably don't pay as much, but didn't you say that you would probably prefer younger kids?
