My mom got some tickets to see Charlie Daniels at a bar (the Saddle Rack in San Jose, CA) when I was 17 or 18. I told her I would meet her at the door, I used a fake ID to get in and she was waiting just inside and went all Mommy on me- "How did you manage to get in??!!!", I walked right past her and up to one of the bars in back and ordered a beer. She almost got be thrown out! She couldn't understand why I was so "rude" and "ignored" her at the door until I explained that getting thrown our of the 'Rack for a fake ID was not a pleasant experience. Those bouncers do not want you coming back!

Awesome concert though. CDB has been awesome every time I have had the chance to see them.

Note: This was back in the '80's when Gilley's made indoor bull riding real popular, and the Saddle Rack was a big place back then with all of the attractions that the big bars in Texas had. It closed up in 2000, then reopened in a different location under a new owner. The new place just isn't the same though.

About 4 months ago I changed my land line phone service. I received a final bill shortly thereafter and saw that I had a credit due me. I called and asked them to send me the check (granted, it was only for $2.54, but still......). They said it takes a while to process the refund and a check will be sent. Four months go by and I finally get the check yesterday.

Here's my random question.......

Why do I have to pay my bills on time every months but when they owe me money it takes them 4 months to pay me?

I've was asking the same question a while back...

Why did it take two weeks to get a check in the mail from the same town, but two days to get a bill from San Antonio...

And that was gauging by the post mark too.

I cancelled my local paper when my ex moved out last April, they kept sending it. After 2 more calls I quit paying the bill, there is a newspaper in my drive this morning and a letter from them on my desk saying they are going to send my account to a collection agency. The guy at the other end of that phone number is not going to enjoy the phone call.

I had this same discussion with the girl at the Toyota dealership last week. If I purchase something with my debit card it comes out of my account immediately. But then if I return it, it takes two weeks for them to credit it back to my account. It's frustrating and I told her that....

Parts for my Toyota. Every time I go the salesmen ask me how long I plan to keep that truck running for. Forever, it will run for ever.

It hasn't been so great actually... But it runs all the time for now.
