Sorry, your explanation does not convince me.
Maybe dogs aren't as well evolved as we are? We may simply be the better species at fighting off disease.

Dogs lick their butts. This can transmit all kinds of things, and most humans don't lick butts. Shihan not included.

How come we are supposed to take our dogs to the vet every year for shots when in humans, once they receive the series of shots for immunity, they are set for life, pretty much. Sometimes a human's titer will fall but only then will further vaccinations be given. I sometimes think the AVMA is trying to rip us off by setting those guide lines.
I don't know. Maybe they're more concerned about dogs biting people than they are about people biting people... I vaccinate my dog myself. It hurts my heart. He doesn't cry so much anymore though..

I have vaccinated my dogs myself, too. Except Rabies vaccinations must be done through a veterinarian so it can be documented and registered with the county. My dogs don't even whimper. I give them a treat to eat and vaccinate them while they're licking up some peanut butter or liver sausage and they don't even notice.

We can do our rabies tag and vaccination 1, 3 or 5 years depending how much we pay. Do you think its the same shot and amount? I bet it is. Probably a scam. Maybe its because we live in the city? We do have more rabies out breaks than the rural counties in the area.

Vaccination of rabies has more to do with rabies itself than whether our species is different. Humans get vaccinated for diseases and those are good for life. However, rabies is a virus and just like every other virus, it mutates into different strains. Just like the flu. Its just easier to vaccinate the animals regularly, instead of us.

Measles, mumps and rubella are all viruses........

Explain THAT. I still think it isn't necessary to vaccinate our animals every year.
