At first I thought I misread something when reading about the recent school shooting, but I didn't. So I would just like to ask since I must of missed the meeting they decided this at.......when the heck did a .223/5.56 become a "high powered" rifle? In my mind, you may think different, anything below a .308 shouldn't be classed as such. I also think in order for it to be classed as high powered, you should be able to hit a target (consistently) at 500yards or farther. I know you can do this with a .223/5.56, but not with a 3/4 hit ratio.

put a .22 short into the base of the back of ones head and im sure you will get the same result as if you used a .308

They just said on the local news I'm watching right now "2 High Powered Pistols".

Seems like a pretty stupid statement, but I am in CA so what can I expect? Here's my random question; Can anyone show me a low powered pistol?
