Kinda like Clark Kent and Superman. Does he really think those damn nerdy glasses are fooling anyone? Only in the movies...
I do frequent other Groupbuilder forums. They all are familiar with Austin. Here on FTF, we have Notdku.

Don't worry. Bobski is "going to make sure we all get shot by the end of the day" at his Shotgun Shoot and Hoot.

As to side mounts on more modern weapons. They use em that way now because they make weapons securely carried yet out of the way more efficient.

Incidentally, I have 2 SKS rifles- one with sling on bottom, one on side.
Ok, I think I answered my own question..
The muzzle in the horse threw me off because during the period Im referring to (1890's-Early WWII) most mounted troops carry their rifles muzzle up like this:

But I did notice that the mounted troops carry their rifles across their back, not on their shoulder like Infantry.....

By the time the SKS was in service, where there even any horse mounted troops left??

No one in the US military is trained to ride horses in anything other than ceremonial circumstances, and even then, I think even that much has been possibly done away with. Parade riding and cross country riding are entirely different things.
Our troops aren't trained for that, not even special forces. Our guys are just awesome like that.

Just a random thought I've had after finding out you can still legally own threaded barrels in Canada. Is it possible to put a .223 flash surpressor/enhancer onto a .22LR firearm provided the threading is the same?

Yes it is. It doesn't work the other way around though. The extra pressure off the 223/556 will blow the baffles out of the 22 lr/mag suppressor-IF its a cheaper suppressor that is

I thought they were different people.

When we pirate raided the hell out of the Bersa forums, Notdku told us that Austin told him about it.

Speaking of which, I could go for some raiding right now.

Well we can't (legally) own anything that attaches the the barrel and lessens the sound of the gun shot, so baffles being blown out aren't on my list of worries. But that's good to know incase the laws here ever allow such things.

I just figured I would ask before I ordered any muzzle attachments to end up finding out I wasted $XX.xx on it. Now I just need to find a "tacti-cool" fake can and/or flash hider......preferably a flash enhancer though.

Or was it just the voices in Notdku's head? He probably has a voice he named "Austin".
