Okay, folks. I have a dog stake in my yard that I want to move. I can't get the thing out of the ground. It's been rainy lately so the ground is soft. I have tugged at it, wedged the claw of a hammer under it. I have smacked it back and forth trying to loosen it. I can't get this thing out of the ground and I don't want to buy another if I don't have to. Any suggestions? This is the style stake it is.

Hook it to your car, and drive away. Slowly.

take 2 or 3, 2 x 4s (or any fulcrum type device), stack them next to the stake, and use a 2 x 4 lever to pry it up (or pry bar, or claw hammer. just use one 2 x 4 to pry against when using the hammer.............like pullin a nail).

are you SURE that it's like that, and NOT a "cork-screw" one..........HERE'S YER SIGN! LOL DOH!

You could remove it redneck style. Get a rope. Tie one end to the stake, and the other end to your car. You know what to do from there.
