I have a keen interest in failed/rare/weird firearms (such as the Gyrojet, the braverman folding revolver, the dardsen tround revolver, etc.), and I wish to reproduce these firearms and possibly hand load rare and extinct ammo.

Yes, but if you can make them, there is still some demand for them by collectors.

Perhaps so, except that reproductions rarely fetch much, certainly not as much as the originals are worth.

To tell you the truth, I kinda wanna reload them just for myself. If I open a gun smithing business, then why use it for yourself?
