I sometimes piss on people's parades. Not to be mean, just to be kind of humorously facetious, kinda like I'm about to do right now.
Ole Yeller wasn't a lab. He was a Ladner Yellow Blackmouth Cur, a dog bred in Mississippi (I think the state's only "native" bred breed), by Mississippi Governor L.H. Ladner, who kept very extensive records of his family's breeding program which is what allowed the breed to be accepted into the NKC.
