I rarely, if ever, talk about people behind their backs and I can keep a secret or personal information for an eternity.

If I hear someone talking about someone else behind their back, I always throw in a 'counter comment'.

Example........
A co-worker was commenting she was at WalMart at 2230 at night and there was a Mom with a 2 year old child there. Co-worker started blasting that woman saying, "She should have that child in bed by that time of night."

I countered with........"Maybe she's a single Mom who works second shift and had no choice but to run to the store at the time." I also told my co-worker that sometimes things aren't always as they appear. Who of us hasn't done something with a real reason as to why we did it but it isn't obvious to the casual observer.

I give people "a break" every chance I get.

I just read this and wondered if your coworker is reading it......

JK!

You are spot on about children being out- some kids just have needs and you can't just leave them at home. If they fall asleep in the shopping cart then so much the better. Parenting from afar is just soooo easy compared to the real thing.

I'd rather my own son see me die on my feet as a free man, than watch him go, broken, into slavery.

Mine is rarely in bed before 2200, for the very reason you stated winds.

Even if I could afford a sitter, other people have this tendency of wanting to be at home with their own families that late at night, making a sitter an unfeasible option.

Luckily, with my job, I can do things during my work day, like picking up a few groceries and such.

Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.
