My ex is "jr". It caused some problems. Not only a mix up with mail, etc. but my ex was so very unlike his namesake and father that it caused some hard feelings with his dad. He wanted his namesake son to be like him, and he couldn't have been any more different.

When my first son was born, I refused to make him a "III". The buck stopped here. Every one deserves their own name and their own identity.

But to show you how crazy my ex's family is, his brother wanted to name his sone JGM, III, even though my ex's brother's name wasn't the "jr". Crazy family, indeed.

My father, my grandfather and myself all have the same first name. I also jave my grandfathers middle name. I never met him but by the stories I've heard I'm probably better off.

When I was born, my sperm donor of a father (have not seen him since I was two) tried to get me named after him. I would have been a III. Thank God mom put a stop to that.
