Hey Doc what boat is that in your avatar? I may have asked before and I apologize in advance if I did.

It's an old Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM, Boomer) sub it may have been converted to an SSGN (a cruise missile carrier) but I'm not sure, I was stationed aboard the USS Holland AS-32 (Operations Dept.) at Holy Loch Scotland for 2.5 years (79-82) handling mostly boomers (SUBRON 14) but we did work on other SSN's (fast attacks) and the occasional Tin Can

Excellent! I spent a year at Adak AK (77-78) out at the NAVCOMSTA/NSGA. I was a plank owner for the NSGA.

It's an old Navy Tradition, that when a new ship or base is commissioned the initial crew become "plank owners".

Even though I am unable to fly, I get around quite a bit.
