I hate terminating employees. It's a real pain in the neck.

The few times I've been in that position, I loved it. Got rid of some really bad apples. Of course, I'm not the one who had to deal with paperwork. Then again, non union, at will employment... I don't think there WAS any paperwork.

I'm 75 years old. I LOVE the '40's and '50's Looney Tunes stuff. I will NOT CONSIDER getting involved in Facebook or Twitter and don't see why anyone should give a left-hand-thread crap about the details of my daily life. My carry gun is a 1990 Smith 640 with the old FBI load. I can write a parody of the Yellow Pages if you give me a little time.

Best of all, at my age they usually call me "eccentric" and not "effin' nuts". They are wrong...

I would not be good at that. I never had a desire to be in any management position. I am a very good "grunt".

Management is nothing other than a full time professional babysitter. I did it for 12 years without a break. I didn't have to fire many though, I usually made them miserable enough to quit.

See, I'd rather just tell someone "go away, don't come back, you're fired"

If it were a strictly managerial decision, like a budget cut or something, that may be different. Everyone I've had to fire (about 7 different people), I was pretty ruthless and found it quite satisfying. They were all a bunch of non working a-holes with attitudes, except the one thief. I fired my own cousin. He thought he could get away with doing nothing because of his family connection. Him and two other guys (all at different times) had a habit of not showing up for a couple of days straight, not calling, and not picking up their phone. Boss man told me to do what I had to do to get the job done, so I fired anyone not willing to work, and work hard, and hired new guys. I was able to save money on that deal for firing those three and hiring one man who did the same amount of work.

You hit the nail on the head. If I became a nursery school worker I'm not sure if it would be a lateral move or a step up. It's just amazing how a lazy POS can constantly blame everyone else, lie, cheat and steal then its your fault because he failed.

i'm 31 & agree with you 1000% 40's & 50's era Looney Toones were the best. this was one of my favorites as a child, although it's technically from the 30's: http://youtu.be/d8stkqssLYc
