I'd rather my own son see me die on my feet as a free man, than watch him go, broken, into slavery.

Yeah... the onions...
I walked into a USO "movie theater" (a dark tent with a big screen TV and fold up chairs), and was able to just barely see a whole damn company's worth of Marines very discreetly trying to keep their eyes dry. The sniffling I heard all around the tent was actually pretty funny. The I hear one Marine with a west Texas drawl say "Gawd dern that's just so damn sad..." It turned out to be my company 1st sergeant.

I used to make fun of my wife when she cried over a move or TV show. I don't usually cry or get teary eyed at the parts that get to most people. But I eyes water up at parts where kids make their parents proud or stuff that stirs that kind of emotion.then I set and try my best to hide it. Kinda like when my daughter was in the marching band, I went to her first competition and they marched out on the field to the drums. Then came the first blast the other instruments tears flowed.

I can't make it through "Where the Red Fern Grows" without tearing up. I have seen that movie several times, and read the book, but it never gets easier to watch/read the end.

Only thing I've cried about is my wife and daughter since I've been a child. I think about them for instance in a song that relates to life, and the music makes me tear up a little, on occasion.
