Default R.i.p. Cookie

We lost a family member a couple of days ago. She left us quietly of heart failure.
We saved her from death by starvation and in return she gave us 12 years of love and devotion. She was one of the most gentle dogs I have ever known, and was devoted to my wife; as was my wife to her. We both miss her terribly and her older "step-sister" Sassy is feeling lost. Her ashes will be on the mantle.

This too shall pass.

Those words are always true.

Just as Cookie has now passed on, so will the painful heartache of her loss.

The one thing that will not fade is the fond memories you generated with her over those 12 years.

My condolences.

My condolences. My wife and I are on our second rescue. The first was a Golden retriever mix that I had for 15 years, who we had to have put down due to cancer. She was one of the few things I still had after my divorce, and had a very strong bond with my daughter. We still miss her.

The current one is a 2 year old lab who was left in an apartment when the owner's moved and couldn't take her with them. There is no doubt that she is my wife's dog.

She had to have been up there for at least a week to ten days, and was very sick when we got her from the property owner. Just thinking about that pizzes me off to no end. How someone can do that to a dog is something I will never understand, and I am sure there is a special place in Hell for folks like that.

Sorry for your loss my friend. You and yours are in my thoughts and prayers.
