Default A quote you won't find in your kid's history book

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes....Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
--Thomas Jefferson

Great quote and absolutely true.

"If in the opinion of the people the distribution or modification of the constitutional powers be in any particular wrong, let it be corrected by an amendment in the way which the Constitution designates, but let there be no change by usurpation; for though this in one instance may be the instrument of good, it is the customary weapon by which free governments are destroyed." George Washington, Farewell Address, September 17, 1796.

Thomas who? (only kidding) Your lucky to him in a history book nowadays unless it has to do with him 'allegedly' fathering someone. Great man!

That's exactly right. You won't see that in a history book. The more we forget what the Founders actually thought, the more their actions can be twisted to support the opposite. How else to explain the Second Amendment meaning the militia and not individual citizens? You can't. Their writings elsewhere prove they meant each person to have arms, and arms suitable for military activities. The liars know that and must make us forget what men such as Jefferson said to allow the people to be disarmed. They are evil.
