Thank you Shadecorp and Winds
One thing is certain about the weather in NC. If you do not like the weather you are currently experiencing just wait a couple days, it will change.
Most of the time in November we have a steady routine of sixty degree days and forty degree nights. But the weather is capable of becoming Arctic cold or Bahamas warm during November. The coldest weather here in NC is when the temperature hovers right above freezing. You will be wet and cold. Don't leave your winter socks at home.
Bread bags are your best friend in wet and cold weather. Just put on your socks like you normally would. Then put a bread bag over your socks right before you slip on your boots. I have tried everything to keep my feet warm but I have found nothing that is better than a bread bag.
Rubber insulated boots that are preferred in many snowy areas last about a month in NC. We have an abundance of thorny bushes and vines that will poke tiny holes in rubber boots that you cannot see.
