I write music, which I guess is art, and I've written several songs for my wife which I think she loves or did love, at least she said she did. The problem is, music is so easily forgotten, even though it comes from my soul, it becomes meaningless I guess over time and the art and the understanding it implies is lost. So I end up feeling like a fool for ever writing it in the first place. It's like playing music on the Titanic.... You know you're going down.

life would be much more boring and without meaning if not for music. music is a way we can express our deepest feeling and thoughts. i happen to have a great love of music and wished i had been talented enought to be so inclined to either play it or write it for others, but sadly that was not to be. but i have great respect for those who can.

I write music and I draw and do wood carvings and wood working. It's all art. It's all about creating something that didn't exist before even if it doesn't last. All that matters is that you created something that was special to someone at some point. If you do that then it's art.

For some reason, I object when people call woodworking art, or a woodworker an artist. I prefer the term craftsman.

Out of curiosity, do you feel the same about singers, and prefer the term "musician"?
