Proper pronunciation thread?
I was surprised to find that there's no thread or forum sticky that posts the proper pronunciation of gun terms and company names. Am I just missing something somewhere? I looked thru everything briefly and saw nil.
I've always wonderd if I've been saying Sig Sauer correct. As well as a few others.

I've always said the sig like smoke a "cig", and then Sauer like the Sawyer in Tom Sawyer.

That would mage me wrong. I say the Sig the same but Sauer as sour. Lol I'm sure I'm wrong there.

I say "cig saur" as in dinosaur.
Mosin Nagant is a strange one.
I say "mo-ZIN nah-GAHNT"
Its really something like, or similar to, "moy-ZHEEN nah-GAWN", like with a French pronunciation, or similar.

I've always sauer-sour. Never been looked at crazy and it's a German company so im guessing it's like sauerkraut and that's not pronounced Sawyer-kraut lol

That was my theory as well, but I never assume anything. When it comes to proper nouns there really aren't any rules, or rather they can break them.
