Default Probaly a rough time for some members

Some members in the ice hit states are having a rough time. Prayers not out of order for them.

We got about 3 inches of ice in places last night. I got tree limbs down all over the yard and even the whole top of a pine is down, satellite is down because there is 2 inches of ice on the dish. I live on the highway and snowplows and heavy graders are going by every few minutes and they can't keep up. A few of my neighbors are without power and I offered to let them hang out at my place until I loss my juice too. My house is total electric, If I loss power I'm going to my in-laws and staying warm next to the woodstove. I have a Coleman propane camp stove so I can cook if I loss power.

Kentucky has declared a state of emergency, I drove down there yesterday and the only place I had trouble driving was the bridge. My truck fishtailed a little, now they are saying stay off the road whenever possible. I'll be ok, I have enough kerosene to last at least another day and the wife's Escape is 4wd. I live less than 1 mile from a gas station that sells kersosene, Thanx for your kindness and concern. I might post some pics of the highway and area.

Stay warm and safe.

I've been iced over here since yesterday, and it is still coming down. Still have power, for now. The generator is all ready to go just in case. Losing power here means no water. The generator will handle the water pumps and fridges. Gas stove. Hot water heated by gas as well. Just sucks because I am in the middle of nowhere and about 10 miles from grocery store. I can get out, but not even 4wd will get back up the hill when it's like this.

HA That is a normal day for us here in Northern Virginia. I bet we had 30,000 accidents since the snow started falling.
