Private indoor range?
I've been wondering about this for some time. I know there are zoning laws to contend with. There is also the issue of ventilation and filtering, due to lead particles. Does anyone know what the specifics, and limitations are to building a range on private property? I live in the Phoenix, Arizona area. It would not be inside the house, I have no basement or room with the appropriate length, but would he a new structure that either stood alone, or shared a boundary with the existing structure. Had anyone done this, or know someone who has? Any ideas are welcome.

My dads national guard armory had an indoor range in the basement. He said at the business end there was a bare dirt floor with a thick steel plate at a steep angle above it. The fired rounds would be deflected by the steel plate into the loose dirt.
I'm not sure what zoning laws you'd have to deal with but as long as you're out in the country and are safe about the construction I can't see why you'd have any trouble with zoning.

Most populated areas these days prohibit the discharging of firearms. This applies to indoor as well as outdoors.

I'd rather my own son see me die on my feet as a free man, than watch him go, broken, into slavery.

The first range I went to today was right smack in the middle of downtown. It all depends on your location.
It was an indoor range.

Thanks for the responses. I don't think it's possible for me. I live in a densely populated suburb of Phoenix. Nevertheless, I'm going to look into the zoning laws.
