a story about one of the only bulldogs i have ever had. back about 1993 or 1994 when i was married to my second wife, we lived outside of a small town, right on the highway. late one summer weekend night i was out in the garage working on one of my project motorcycles and had the garage doors open since in was such a nice night, when this bulldog wanders up. he probably weighed about 75-80 lbs. and he was an old fellow. lots of scars and he couldn't move very fast at all and he looked like he was in pain with every step he took. i suspect someone may have used him for fighting at one time or another. i named him Brutus. he just looked like a Brutus. he was a very friendly old dog and would just lay close to me and watch me work. well he was only around for a couple of months before he passed away.

i fed him and gave him the attention he probably never got before. maybe he was looking for a place to have a little bit of kindness in his life before he passed. he couldn't run or play, but he did seem very appreciative of the attention we gave him. he would slobber all over you in being affectionate!

he was a pretty good old dog in the short time he was around.
