I understand a decorative moat can add quite a bit to the value of a home, maybe even with some rubber duckies. Although, using rubber duckies might be considered "poaching" like hunting over corn.

cats are over populated as it is. dont get me wrong i like MY cat. but i take care of it. it stays in the damn house.... coming out of the woods one day the neighbors cat crossed my path.. i wonder how many scavengers it fed?

Regarding Alaskan bears: I knew a guy who had the priviledge to open up on a group of marauding polar bears with a deck-mounted 50 caliber machine gun. They were threatening some Navy equipment left on a beach. I'm pretty sure i patted dude on the back and bought lunch after hearing him telling a coworker that. Dude's in JAG by now.

back in college while studying architecture we had a semester long desing project that culminated with our supposed "dream home" ...
mine had a complex maze of rivers all around it ..... it took the professors quite a while to realize it acted as a moat as well  .... A+ and the top design award for the class
