NICE!

I would've had to spit off that bridge though.

This weekend is "Bridge Day"...it's where they shut down the vehicle traffic to the New River Gorge Bridge and let base jumpers from all over the world jump off it. Up until about 12 years ago, it was the tallest single span arch bridge in the world. They have a graphic at the overlook that shows that you can fit three Washington Monuments and two Statues of Liberty stacked on top of one another underneath the middle of the arch and still not touch the bottom of the gorge. This pic doesn't do it any justice, it an amazing sight to see.

OK..EDIT My wife says I'm crazy. She says it's been too long since I've hiked down to the overlook (it is about a couple hundred steps straight up and down, and its been about 25 years since I've done it) and my description of the graphic is all wrong! She says it is "two Statue of Liberty's (without the base) and one Washington Monument stacked on top of one another". Anyway...it's damn HIGH!

I've rafted underneath that bridge. I was waiting for spit to hit me.
