Pic of my Dad shooting the AR last summer. It was the first time in many years that he had fired a gun, and the first time since he was in the Army that he had fired a rifle. He passed away last month. Note the spent case next to his head in front of the earmuff band. He unloaded a full clip and then yelled "DIE! DIE! DIE!!!".

He was smiling when he was done. That day was really funny, he called in the AM and asked if they all could come over. Then after we had been visiting for awhile he suddenly asks my one son to show them some of the guns (the girls had never held nor fired a gun before), then he said he really wanted them to be able to shoot something. So I tell the boys to get the .22s out, then he says that he would really like them to shoot something "with a kick". So then we got out the AR and a couple of the Glocks- I wish I had gotten out the Garand because he really would have liked that, having qualified as a sharpshooter in the Army with both a Garand and the M1 Carbine.

Anyhow, I took pictures of all of them shooting and sent them to my sister who also has never fired a gun in her life (nor has her husband). Now her daughters are bugging her to go shooting with us next time they are down here. Everybody had a blast.

Now that I think of it I think I started a thread about that day. I'll see if I can find it.

first time since the army? wow he remembered pretty good stance for that long a break. sorry hes gone.
