A monkey it's a big responsibility, please do not misunderstood what I will try to say, but it's like a Down syndrome child... (please do not offend if you or any that you know have a familiar with down syndrome, I can understand the difference, just an example here) because they only feed and handle from familiar hands, it's not like a dog that you have in your patio and if you want to travel ask a familiar or friend that feed him so you are restricted to do whatever you want (almost enslaved to him).
My girlfriend received hers as gift... has been 11 years now. But if you aren't prepared do not try, remember it's like a child... and after he/she adapt to you and your way of life there's no backwards... the local zoo receives a lot of monkeys that people buy aside of rural roads and after a year or two gets bored or tired and don't know what to do; often just have the monkeys for days or weeks and they have to take them to the zoo because don't know even how to care the animal. They have personality just like a human... some are aggressive (Moya it's a female so she is a little bit aggressive to other females -human females included) some are like trouble Childs, broke everything, making a mess in the house and that kind of behavior it's the main reason to take them to the zoo, the zoo keeper says that most of them can't be reinserted again in wildlife, so they spend the rest of their life in the zoo; That's sad.
Moya sleep in a basket inside of the house, every morning has to be pulled out and put their chain in a tree outside, then you have to do the same process in reverse every night. She spend the day fooling around in her tree... sometimes she escape and sneak in the neighbors house, especially in the kitchen then eat many as she can before she gets caught.
