The truck mechanics around there don't really make near enough to make the move worth it (assuming you make around fifty or sixty a year). But if you can get hired on as a motorman, or a mechanic in the yards you are looking at anywhere from one forty to one sixty a year. Big diesels. Some of those older diesel rigs have three or four sixteen cylinder slow speeds. Bronco sent one rig up there from PA that had two thirty two cylinder slow speeds.
But a lot of the newer diesel/electric rigs are running on the CAT 3508s and 3516s.
you could make good money doing that up here, but you'd probably hafta sleep in your car for awhile. pretty much NO housing in the western part of the state, alot of people commuting up to 100 miles one way for their oil field jobs.
plus the real estate market up here is just ridiculous right now, stuff that was selling for $150K ten years ago is selling for $300K now
