I just moved from Lake Saint Louis, MO to WV two years ago. We still have a family condo at Lake of the Ozark, beside the Hurricane Deck bridge (33 mile marker). I've fished the hell out of Busch Wildlife Management Area. Never did see anything that size out of MO. Although they do have a 6lb. White in the aquarium at Busch, it's been hand fed for years so I don't think that counts.

Me and my uncle catches at least three apiece everytime 10½" at least. The big blacks are less frequently caught but still caught often enough to be a normal occurrence

Not only are crappie one of the most beautiful fish, THEY TASTE GREAT!!! Next time I'm out visiting family, you're gonna have to take me to this "honey hole" you're talking about. I can't remember where Truman dam is, is that the one above Bagnel?

Below bagnell. Its the one in the town of Warsaw. Whiteman air force base is like 5 miles or so away from it.
