I've been bitten. It kind of depends a bit on your body's natural defenses. I had a nickle sized hole rot out of my skin. Many people don't get so lucky. Mine was on the front of my hip, and right where my belt rides. Painful. I couldn't just walk around naked. Was pipelining and nudity would have been unsafe for the barbed wire I was working with.

Some people get deathly sick and end up in ICU, and some people just get like what you did. I hope me or the family never finds out.

Had a friend in high school who was "less of a man" after an encounter with one. He was traumatized.

If you're far enough south, you get the fiddlebacks AND the friggin' scorpions.

i guess that's one of the perks of being far enough up north, it's too damn cold most of the year for the nasty stuff to survive. we get the wolf spiders which aren't real poisonous. but i guess we still gotta worry about the rattlesnakes though

a friend of mine was camping in southern Utah last year, he called me at 11 pm to tell me at the moment, he had a scorpion sitting on his foot while sitting around the campfire. he asked me what he should do, my response was "GET THE F*CKIN THING OFF YOUR FOOT!" that seemed obvious to me, but i didn't have a 6 pack in me like he did
