Here are a couple of shots I took with my phone while I was cleaning up the mess this guy left down the runway. Seems he FORGOT to put his landing gear down!! This is the second one like this in about a year. The guy last year was an FAA instructor flying in to give a SAFETY SEMINAR!!. No one was hurt and only took a couple of hours to get it all cleaned up and the runway re-opened.

Seeing how that is a Cessna 172, the landing gear is fixed so he didn't FORGET to put it down. He probably had a hard landing which caused the gear to collapse. Could have been a new pilot or could have been wind/turbulence.

View from my grandmother-in-law's back yard. I had my wedding there and I couldn't have asked for better weather.

This is a cessna 182, and he definitly FORGOT to drop the gear,It was a flight instructor and student.

Wouldn't really know Dan, I was told a 182 and I know for certain the gear was retractable. In the last pic the mechanic was attempting to lower the gear so it could sit on the wheels, but the nose gear wouldn't lower. They put those pads on the ground and set it down on the belly again. I left after that, it was WAY past my dinner 1/2 hour!
