How about a few Spring pictures of our place on Cowee Mountain in western North Carolina. Its at about 3500 ft. elevation so its usually about 10 degrees cooler than in the valley. The Azaleas are starting to pop. The Rhododendrons are is getting close. The neighbors said we just missed the Cherry tree blooming by a week. We're about 6 miles north of Franklin and its a really nice area. The Smokey Mountain Center for the Performing Arts always has something going on. Last night the wife went to a "Taste of Home" cooking class there and in a few weeks we have tickets to see 38 Special. (For the longest I thought they were saying "Hold on Lucy." Go figure.
.) The pictures are 1. House. 2. View from front porch. 3. View from across the pond. 4. Catfish. Some are around 2 ft. long. 5. View up driveway. 6&7. Up mountain behind house. 8. Water coming into the pond. We haven't seen a bear yet but our neighbors have.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." C.S. Lewis
