Trip- you mean in New Bern? Those are very nice. Although my lady cannot physically travel, I found that Google Earth had mapped the village in England where she grew up at street level- so went spent a day "strolling" thru her childhood home on the computer. She really enjoyed that, so I have been finding other places to "visit"on line. Will be sure to add the Tryon Palace to the list.

Yes, New Bern, North Carolina. I doubt the gardens are mapped, but I may be able to find some pictures. Unfortunately, I lost most of my pictures during the chaos following my divorce, but my sister visited the gardens with me once, she may have some. I'll have to ask.

C3, check out Moody Gardens in Galveston Texas. a tropical rainforest environment inside a glass pyramid. very beautiful place. i have been there twice and enjoyed the place a lot. lots of beautiful flowers and plants along with lots of birds and butterflys. plus a 3-D theater.

Thanx- will check it out. One of her happier days, about 15 years ago, she went to Hawai'i with me. I stopped at an orchid nursery on the Big Island, walked her inside, handed her the credit card, said "Have fun." She did!

You could always Google Olbrich Botanical Gardens. They have a lot of pictures online.

Several months ago VikingGal and I went to the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers during their orchid exhibit. I posted a bunch of photos from that day here. Last week we went to a plave near here called Filoli that has some beautiful gardens. http://filoli.org/explore-filoli/the-garden/garden-walk.html

C3, look up Longwood Gardens, Pa., and Winterthur in De.
Both old DuPont estates.
I loved wandering around both when I lived up in that area.
