My dads friend made this for him. It's locust and ash, native timber from the woods behind my parents house. He cheated and bought the wheels.

Thanks for all your kind words I'm not in them.

I am no better or worse than any others (and not complaining) that spent their time but I was so young and naive I hadn't lived outside the nest of mom and dad yet.

The military was certainly a good experience as was living away. After Basic Training and AIT in Georgia I went home to Ca. Went to Las Vegas and I was married on Nov 2 and left for Vietnam on Nov 19 - and came back in 1 piece. I am grateful and grateful to all those who have performed any duty to serve our great country.

Thank you all!

Christmas in the hooch at Korat Thailand 1967. Me 46 years and 50 lbs. ago if I did the math right. Dave from St. Petersburg FL in the middle and Ed from Baraboo WI on the right. Now doesn't instill fear and dread in you? lol. It was an eight man hooch and you should have heard us all about drunk trying to sing the 12 days of Christmas. I would give good money if I could find a copy of that tape. Somebody got a care package and it had several boxes of Cracker Jacks along with other goodies. One of the boxes of Cracker Jacks didn't have a prize in it. Well, we proceeded to write the company a letter telling who we were and what we did and that it didn't matter to us that there was no prize in one box but if a kid had got that box they would have been so disappointed. A couple of weeks later we got a box full of prizes and a sarcastic letter. The things you can think of to do with enough boredom and booze.

Well your 8 man hooch was better than one I was in for 3 weeks. We had to set up a 3/4 ton with a full radio/TT in Can Goich (sp pronounced Can Jook). It was over my 21 birthday. Wife sent me a card about 28" tall 12" wide. It was funny at the time...we were temps at Can Goich during mail call.

That's pretty cool. I would like to be able to make stuff like that for my kids.

There was a reason I joined the Air Force. I always said I would rather spend 4 years in a building than 2 in a tent.
