I want to make a t-top for a boat and a fold up 6ft blind that can fit in a Ranger bed. Have looked at a lot of rigs on Craigslist and eBay, but need to prioritize.....
Any words of advise for a used AC tig set up?

I use what they buy at work: miller. We have three tigs, I used the "good" one for the cans. The one I regularly use is old, but generally a good machine.

As far as advice, I don't know what to tell you other than its probably a "you get what you pay for" thing. You can MIG aluminium if that opens any options for ya.
