Really odd contrail patterns in the sky west of California over the Pacific Ocean. This was a few months ago, nothing odd was going on at the time but there were several planes over the course of the day flying in this same pattern. It was only after seeing three or four of them that I stopped to take a photo of it. The picture is of one plane coming from the south and doing two race-track loops and then heading back to the south.

Typical holding pattern. Looks like it could have been taken right out of a training manual diagram.

Why they were doing it? Who knows. Could have been dozens of different things going on.

Why didn't you come to the Shoot and Hoot. It would have been an easy drive for you.
DFlynt, Bobski is trying to fill some squads for 19-Oct. See if you can get there. It's well worth the trip. If not, plan on April 2014!

Dang! Some of those buldings in Rome look run down Jager? Why did you have to go into their 'project' areas anyways?
