I said yeah, the whole reason I'd like to have it would be to go back and forth to work during the summer while my kid's at his mom's. So he gave it to me. Told me to go get it, and check back in with him next week to get the title (I tracked him down at his job, he didn't have it with him.)

He said it shouldn't need anything to get it running. It's the stopping part that's been proving difficult. Said he'd replaced the front brake reservoir three different times with used ones and they keep leaking. Recommended I find a new one and probably a gas tank. It's been patched in a few spots.
Awesome man. What a great find. I hope its not stolen.

I bet you can put less than a grand into it and have a perfectly good bike.

He says he thinks it'll take about 100 bucks. I wouldn't think it's stolen, he had the key and says he has the title. Plus, he's got too much to lose.

I wouldn't put a grand into it. High value on this bike is 1K. Value as is, I'd say 500 bucks.

My brother had a nighthawk with the same brake problem. He never did figure it out, and sold it.

J.c. Whitney sells bike parts, iirc. Or try to find a bike junkyard.

What engine?

I do. He's had the gun for years and still doesn't know the basic features of it, yet he is willing to submerge it in water and pull the trigger. Lol
