I have a Remington 1911R1, and I absolutely LOVE it. The factory mags aren't that great, so I recommend getting some higher quality ones. That is my only gripe.

You also can't go wrong with an STI, Springfield, or Colt.

If your looking for something a little cheaper, RIAs and Metro Arms/American Classics are good.
