It closed down sometime in the 80's if I remember right. Now they offer self-guided tours. It was awesome! They also had a HUGE car museum next door that had probably 1000 vintage cars on display. Love visiting MT

Here's a picture of another place I love visiting: Miami. This was the view outside my $80/night room at the Ocean Palm Motel in 2010 (I think):

On the way down to Miami, I stopped at Universal City Walk for a day and night, and hung out here:

Yup, it was foreclosed on. The construction is for sh!t, lots of crappy work. Not a lot of sense in how its put together. Inside is pretty trashed and unfinished. The people who lived there and built it were slobs. Lots of fake luxury all over the place. Plus its too freaking big! What a waste. i'm not sure how many square feet but it is way too huge for three people.

Oh, and the little girl had her own little "dollhouse" (basically a 16 by 20 dollhouse for her to play in) that was decorated my the famous designer Laura Ashley at a tremendous cost.

Basically they pissed away a fortune in building this palatial monstrosity and now it sits unoccupied.

Some more photos of the Old Montana State Prison at Deer Lodge:

One of the prison showers

Display of weapons and prison-made stuff

Hallway in the administrative building. Inmates and guards on the right, free people and non-uniformed staff used the walkway to the left.

Interior gun turret, just behind me in the first picture of the cellblock a couple posts back

Exterior of the cellblock from the exercise yard. If you look at the tower (left side), the top set of windows...you can just make out an irregularity on the right edge of the windows. Thats where a national guard soldier fired a bazooka into the building during a riot/hostage situation in 1959. Theres a better picture of the window on wikipedia linked below, if anyone wants to see it.

If you get to the Pacific Northwest, check out the Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville, OR. It's one of the best small to midsize museums I've been to. It's where the Spruce Goose is now located.

A good friend is a PNG missionary, bible translator and shared GREAT pics of the natives. He noted that some of the natives really lived like natives of years past.
