Copperheads and rat snakes look similar enough that one is mistaken for the other very often.

yeah I figured it out but a little late for the snake. Oh well, any snake in my yard ad my stupid dog is likely to play with it. Plus the only pests we have are those pesky squirrels and that snake needs to grow quite a bit before he could attempt that.

I almost never kill any snakes. Only kill rattlers when they are inside where they shouldn't be. These days I would just move them back outside and let them live. Snakes kill more vermin than I ever could.

You get rattlers inside the house??? WTF man? I'd put a 12 ga. Size hole through my floor if I ran into something like that.
